Sea-Ing is believing (The Nothing to See Here Hotel book 3)by Steven Butler and Steven Lenton (illustrator) morning

Frankie Banister and his family are preparing to celebrate Grandad Abraham’s 175th birthday – an occasion that’s going to be even more HONKHUMPTIOUS now that Abe’s ghost has showed up!

When the unexpected spook reveals a secret UNDERWATER wing of the hotel that’s been hidden away for years, the Banister’s decide there’s only one thing for it … a whopping welcome home bash in the spectacular BRINY BALLROOM.

But memories aren’t the only things waiting at the bottom of the ocean. Secrets and sea monsters are lurking in the shadows, and is everything as it seems with Grandad Abraham’s ghost? Or is there something
fishy going on?

Welcome back to the Nothing to See Here Hotel and be prepared for a rollercoaster of a ride.

In book three Frankie and his family are preparing to celebrate Great, Great,Great Grandpa’s Abe’s 175th birthday.

Maudlin Maloney has a surprise when she tells the family she could bring back Grandpa Abe from the other side as a ghost using a Skelo key. However Granny Regurgita (my favourite character in the books and you’ve got to love that name!) isn’t keen on bringing her husband back as she never forgave him for dying and leaving her with the hotel.

Maudlin manages to bring back Abe and the Bannister family are over the moon especially Frankie, maybe now they will be able to find out if Abes son Oculus was lying about his father is Abe really a baddie or not? With the help of Abe they discover the long forgotten Briny Ballroom which no one apparently knew about. What they discover is a truly magical part of the hotel that they want to use to celebrate Abes birthday now his ghost can join them.

Frankie has his suspicions about Abe and hopes he really is who he says he is ….

Where do I start reviewing this hilariously funny book I absolutely loved it as I did the previous too Steven Butlers writing has you glued to the book from beginning to end and Steven Lentons illustrations are wonderful and bring the story to life. All the characters from the previous two books are here once again Granny is her usual grumpy self and so funny. Frankie is as always the one who has his head screwed on and looking out for his family and the hotel seems to be his job.

I loved the journey they take to the Briny Ballroom in Grandpas fish shaped machine called the Atilantus , which reminded me of the Nautilus from 20,000 leagues under the sea.

The descriptions and the illustrations of the ballroom are truly magical and as the story unravels we learn more about Frankie’s family background.

I read this book in one sitting and really didn’t want to put it down children and adults of all ages will love these books, adults will love some off the names of the characters like Viscera Von Tangle !!

A well deserved 5 stars and I’m hoping for a book 4 soon.
